Roughly four and a half hours from Montreal or Toronto, the French Caribbean offers what most Canadian snowbirds are after: 27 °C in February, no jet lag and European standards on the ground. Antilles Évasion lists more than 850 properties in Guadeloupe, Martinique, Saint-Martin and Saint-Barth, with prices shown in Canadian dollars and real-time availability.
Guadeloupe is the easiest entry point from Canada, with seasonal non-stop service to Pointe-à-Pitre from December to April and a deep choice of family rentals around Sainte-Anne. Martinique is more compact and easy to tour in a single week from Les Trois-Îlets. Saint-Martin is usually reached via a connection and mixes beaches with a lively restaurant scene. Saint-Barth is the upscale option, with hillside villas and private pools.
Practical points for Canadians: no visa is required, a valid passport is enough, the local currency is the euro while our rates and payments are handled in CAD, and the time difference with Eastern Time is one hour in winter and none in summer. Provincial health coverage does not apply overseas, so travel insurance is worth arranging before departure. Nearly all of our properties with a pool are air-conditioned.
Canadian demand concentrates on the March school break and the Christmas period, when the best beachfront rentals are taken five to six months in advance. If your dates are flexible, May to November brings the lowest rates of the year.
